The rating problem has to do with the classification and evaluation of funds that don't stick to a single investment style.

"The fund's investment style has always been aggressive," she said.

He has also worked to overcome lingering questions about his father's investment style.

"It let me see my own investment style," she said.

Investors pick funds based on risk, investment style, expenses, returns and manager experience.

She describes her investment style as growth at a reasonable price, with a focus on relative value.

"You want your portfolio to represent a number of different investment styles," she said.

"We have an active dialogue with them about their investment style."

It is up to investors to make sure that the goals and investment style of any fund chosen match their own.

The new method, to take effect on June 30, will measure funds only against those that have similar investment styles.
