Having expended all torpedoes, the submarine returned via Midway Island to Pearl Harbor, arriving 26 July for refit.

On 9 November at the completion of repairs, she sailed for Pearl Harbor, via Midway Island.

The ship sailed on New Year's Day, 1946, bound, via Midway Island, for the west coast.
