In 1778 he signed the Articles of Confederation in Philadelphia.

Five parents and four teachers signed the original Articles of Incorporation in March 1966.

In 1781, he signed the Articles of Confederation.

He was thereupon arrested, but after five weeks in prison he overcame his scruples and signed the Articles.

A further subset is the group that signed the Articles of Confederation.

Robert Morris, who did not sign the Articles of Association, is the only other person to sign even three of these documents.

Adams signed the Articles of Confederation with the other Massachusetts delegates in 1778, but they were not ratified by all the states until 1781.
