On the southern side of the lagoon there is a small resort village.
The resort village is 34 km north east of Nipawin.
In recent years, the resort village keeps on growing rapidly, especially during 2000-2006, the population doubled.
Prior to this, the resort village grew at a rate of nearly 20% from 1996 to 2001.

Queenstown is a resort village built on the shores of a lake in the mountains.
The resort village is currently being built out at the base of the ski area.
But many of the 2,000 residents in this quiet resort village aren't laughing.
Two Harbors is the second, and much smaller, resort village on the island.
