He headed the Great Lakes Exposition in 1937 and the following year was president of the Cleveland Convention and Visitors Bureau.

H. Scott Phelps, president of the Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau, agrees.

He will be succeeded by Marshall E. Murdaugh, president of the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"The need now is by location," said Michael V. Hollander, president of the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"Clearly tourism from Asia is going to be off this year," said John Marks, president of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"The center will have a profound impact," said Warren Trafton, president of Hartford's Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Merrett R. Stierheim, president of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, said two more security measures are in the works.
