We've seen a few weeks of poor markets and net redemptions.

But in the most recent period, even large-cap stock funds experienced net redemptions by shareholders, of $1.3 billion.

There have been net redemptions from stock mutual funds over the last three weeks.

There were then net redemptions in each of the following 18 months.

For the seventh consecutive quarter, there were net redemptions from technology funds.

Still, these net redemptions for international funds so far total only $300 million out of $8 billion, or less than 4 cents on the dollar.

In June, all but $111 million of the net redemptions were from domestic stock funds.

"Our equity funds are doing pretty well in terms of return, yet we still see net redemptions," he said.

If not, the net redemptions that insurers face could cause a crisis for some of them.

Some sectors that performed most poorly, like technology, have also suffered net redemptions.
