She graduated from Swarthmore College, and she and her husband are doctoral candidates at Johns Hopkins University, she in psychiatric epidemiology and he in molecular oncology.

After working as a senior investigator at the National Cancer Institute, he joined Washington University in 1986, where he became chief of the division of molecular oncology.

He earned a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Kansas in 1980, did postdoctoral research in molecular oncology at Baylor College of Medicine, and joined the faculty of Olivet Nazarene in 1981.

Dr. Albert J. Fornace Jr., an expert in molecular oncology at Georgetown University Medical Center, said such a low dose was inconsequential, even for pregnant women.

The bride, 27, and bridegroom, 30, met while at New York University, where they received medical degrees and where he also received a doctorate in molecular oncology and immunology.

Georg F. Weber is the author of multiple monographs, most recently a textbook on molecular oncology.

Current research programs include molecular oncology, tumor cell biology, pharmacology and experimental therapeutics, cancer genetics, cancer genomics, cell and gene therapy, transplantation biology, tumor immunology and neuro-oncology.

"The Wilm's tumor gene has a broad role in this crucial transdifferentiation event," the turning of one cell type into the other, said Dr. Frank J. Rauscher, chairman of molecular oncology at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, who is familiar with the new work.
