It consists of an immature rosette and a lower pitcher.
One of these specimens, the lectotype, is a male plant with lower pitchers.
As in lower pitchers, the pitcher mouth is oblique and concave.
The lid is similar to that of the lower pitchers.
In addition, the species differ in the shape of their lower pitchers.
The lower pitchers are relatively large, being up to 25 cm high by 10 cm wide.
The lid and spur are similar to those of lower pitchers.
Wholly red or purple lower pitchers have not been recorded.
The description did not cover the lower pitchers of this species, which were unknown at the time.
As in lower pitchers, a conspicuous hip often marks the boundary between these two parts.
