In August 1955, three months after closure, a committee was formed to try to get the lines reopened to the public.
The line never reopened to passengers and closed completely on 1 December 1958.
By 8 March, the line had reopened after reconstruction work.
Work was completed and the line reopened two days ahead of schedule, on 29 December 2005.
When the line reopened in 1907 just one locomotive was used.
The structure was repaired, and the line reopened three days later.
The line reopened to traffic at 04:23 on 7 January.
Local groups would also like to see the line reopened.
The line has now reopened to its first through traffic from London with occasional special services.
It is hoped this line will reopen sometime in the future.
