Cut into thin slices and place them in a bowl.
Cut it on bias into 12 slices of about the same size.
To make the salad, cut the cheese into 4 slices.
Lay each half cut side down and slice into 1/4-inch slices.
While they are still hot, cut them into slices 1/4 inch thick.
Cut the root in half, then into very thin slices.
Cut the bread into 16 slices, to make 8 sandwiches.
When cool enough to handle cut into 1/8-inch thick slices.
Allow to stand for 10min before carving into thin slices.
Trim and cut up all the vegetables into fine slices.
