Samuel K. Vaughan was a was a lieutenant colonel in the Union Army during the American Civil War who was nominated and confirmed for appointment to the grade of brevet brigadier general in 1866.

On the day following the confirmation of his award of the grade of brevet brigadier general, July 26, 1865, Crosman resigned from the army after approximately 41 years of service.

On March 13, 1867, Congress confirmed the award to DeLand of the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general to rank from March 13, 1865.

For his service during the war, Chickering was awarded the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general, nominated February 21, 1866, confirmed April 10, 1866, to rank from March 13, 1865.

On February 21, 1866, President Andrew Johnson nominated Guiney for the award of the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general, to rank from March 13, 1865, for gallant and meritorious services during the war.

After the war, in 1868, Congress awarded him the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general for "gallant and meritorious service."

He later received the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general, dating from October 28 in recognition of his leadership at Fair Oaks.

On December 24, 1866, President Andrew Johnson nominated Stokes for the award of the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general to rank from March 13, 1865.

On January 13, 1866, President Andrew Johnson nominated Hubbard to the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general, to rank from March 13, 1865.

On December 12, 1864, President Abraham Lincoln nominated Major Abbott for the award of the honorary grade of brevet brigadier general, United States Volunteers, to rank from August 1, 1864.
