Several groups have approached the school board wanting to add more costly athletic programs including: swimming, boys and girls lacrosse and girls middle school softball.

The girls lacrosse won the 2007 South, Group I state sectional championship, edging Holy Cross High School 10-9 in the tournament final.

Because of the new field space, girls lacrosse was started in 2007 at the JV level.

The girls soccer, girls lacrosse, girls softball, boys baseball, boys lacrosse, and boys track teams all won their respective district titles.

Facilities for field hockey, football, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, track, and girls lacrosse are located at the high school.

Teams that have not won a state championship that are known for their strong performances include boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, and volleyball.

Such teams include girls field hockey, girls lacrosse, boys rugby, and boys swimming.

The baseball, girls lacrosse, and softball teams have all advanced to the county semifinals or beyond in the past few years as well.

In girls lacrosse, Franklin Regional won the WPIAL championship in 2010.

Seaholm also partnered with Birmingham Groves to win a state championship in girls lacrosse as Birmingham United.
