In 1925, the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational faiths were combined to form the United Church.

That body in turn merged with the Methodist Church in 1968 to form the United Methodist Church.

These three bodies united to form the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa in 1967.

One of the earliest such unions was in 1925, and formed the United Church of Canada.

The Relief Church eventually became one of the communions combining to form the United Presbyterian Church of Scotland.

In 1894 the Esher-Dubbs dispute occurred and 1/3 of the church left to form the United Evangelical Church.

The Methodists joined with two other denominations to form the United Church of Canada in 1925, for which the building served as the headquarters until 1959.

He also helped lead the Methodists into a merger with Presbyterians to form the United Church of Canada.

Eventually the Methodists joined with the Presbyterians and Congregationalists to form the United Church of Canada in 1925.
