The influx of nearly 200,000 ethnic Albanian refugees from neighboring Kosovo over the past eight weeks has increased those tensions markedly.

In late 1930s this growth was further spurred by influx of ethnic Czech refugees from Sudetenland.

In all, there are a total of 460,000 ethnic Albanian refugees, the United Nations agency said.

These new ethnic Albanian refugees join well over 200,000 others who have fled their homes in the last six months.

He said that the ethnic Albanian refugees from Kosovo had only themselves to blame for their plight.

Yugoslavia has also expressed reluctance to accept ethnic Albanian refugees, who have crossed its frontiers by the hundreds in the last year.

The ethnic German refugees went to western Europe, the United States and other western nations.

Now the troops have been put to work helping Macedonia deal with more than 150,000 ethnic Albanian refugees.

During the Kosovo War six to eight thousand ethnic Albanian refugees left the area.

In the late 1970s, some amount of the ethnic Chinese refugees from Vietnam would also start gangs.
