In 1987 the neighborhood was given historic district status by the city of Atlanta.

On June 6, 1956 it was elevated to full district status.

Outside England, apparently, there were no areas suitable to be given metropolitan district status.

On March 22, 1979 it was elevated to full district status.

Now people of Sihora are demanding for district status from their state government.
