The HTML5 video "market" is highly fragmented almost to the point that every major browser supporting a different codec.
If recorded with a different codec, media must be transcoded during transfer.
Note that this is a completely different codec from G.723.
An application may use this information to control quality of service parameters, perhaps by limiting flow, or using a different codec.
