"The program is excessively politicized," said Mikhail Berger, the respected economics editor for the daily Izvestia.
But an article by a lawyer in the Government daily Izvestia on Friday seemed to rebuke Pravda and other Soviet news organizations for their attitude toward the trial.
The offending sign had been up for at least a day and, the Russian daily Izvestia reported, was planted about 100 yards from a traffic police post.
"We will not permit anybody who organizes terrorist acts to visit Pakistan," he said in an interview in the Moscow daily Izvestia.
"I don't want to blame anyone, but there are very powerful means to interfere with spacecraft today whose use cannot be ruled out," Vladimir Popovkin told the daily Izvestia.
