During the first leg of their journey, the 4,800 Sailors aboard Kitty Hawk conducted landing qualifications near Okinawa and integrated battle group training in the Sea of Japan.

After this the McKean conducted patrols in the Sea of Japan, the South China Sea and Tonkin Gulf.

During the last six weeks of the year, Worden conducted special operations in the Sea of Japan and enjoyed a month-long holiday rest.

The flagships of the Northern Fleet and the Black Sea Fleet participated in the naval exercises conducted in the Sea of Japan.

During that time, she conducted operations in the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, and the South China Sea.

Their mission was to conduct anti-submarine and escort operations in the Sea of Åland.

Two days later, she continued on to Sasebo, whence she conducted exercises in the Sea of Japan, then steamed for Yokosuka.

From 25 May to 11 July 1945 Cabezon conducted her first war patrol in the Sea of Okhotsk, sinking a 2,631-ton Japanese cargo vessel on 19 June.

Volador arrived at Yokosuka on 26 November; and, from 11 December through 4 January 1958, she conducted a special reconnaissance patrol in the Sea of Okhotsk.

Further trials were conducted in the northern Irish Sea in April 1943 at 70/130 kHz.
