A communications consulting firm announced yesterday that it has been selected to help set up the wireless 911 system for New York City police dispatchers.

The bridegroom, 34, is a senior vice president of Financial Dynamics, a communications consulting firm in Manhattan; he advises corporate clients.

"It's an old-fashioned way of life," said Joy McIntosh, 50, who runs a small communications consulting firm and has lived here for four years.

Her mother is chairman of Summerfield-Madden Inc., a communications consulting company in New York.

Her father is a consultant at Baker & Company, a communications consulting concern in Dallas.

David H. Sawyer, 54, a former documentary film maker who founded the company in 1972, described his firm's new focus as "strategic communications consulting."

He is a founder and principal of the Shawmut Group, a Boston-based communications consulting firm.

Patricia Jackaway, vice president of the Prescott Group, a communications consulting and training company, led the recent seminar, which drew about 50 people.

Her mother is a partner in the Corporate Learning Institute, a communications consulting concern in Mountainside.

At about that time, it began to expand aggressively into corporate communications consulting.
