Phil Larder, the national coaching director, accepts Sydney specialists can bring short-term benefit, but feels a new generation of English coaches is being held back.

He is also the coaching director of Dhanmondi Cricket Academy since its inception.

He coached at the professional, collegiate and youth soccer level where he is currently the coaching director at FC Milwaukee.

Having moved back to St. Louis he became involved in the local Chesterfield Hockey Association and was the coaching director for 3 years.

The snag is, though, that coaching directors, no matter how eminent they are, do not win matches.

In 2000 he was named as the national coaching director for the program Soccer in the Streets.

He is also the coaching director for the Victory Honda AAA hockey club.
