Emil P. Dolensek, chief veterinarian of the New York Zoological Society, died of a melanoma Wednesday at his home on City Island in the Bronx.

Dr. Adams has served as a Peace Corps veterinarian in Nigeria and chief veterinarian for the city's zoos and the Big Apple Circus.

"I've never seen anything like that," said the chief veterinarian, Dr. Theodore Hill.

Dr. Gregory Bossart, chief veterinarian and pathologist at the Seaquarium, said the dolphin is "bright," "alert," and "responsive."

In 1896, on returning to New Zealand, he was appointed chief veterinarian and government bacteriologist.

Dr. Ron DeHaven, chief veterinarian of the Agriculture Department, has described it as "minuscule, if any risk at all."

Her complaints were backed by two former zoo employees: a chief veterinarian and an animal nutritionist.

A. The cause of death is, 'in all probability, suffocation," according to Dr. Emil Dolensek, chief veterinarian of the New York Zoological Society.

But Dr. W. Theodore Hill, chief veterinarian for the New York Racing Association, said yesterday that the quarantine was likely to be lifted Monday morning.

"The disease is spreading too quickly," said Nguyen Huy Dang, chief veterinarian of Hatay Province.
