"On his way to London, Miss," the butler replied.

"At the university, sir," the old butler replied; and I imagined there was fright in his eyes.

"I didn't think it my place to ask," the butler replied.

"Follow me, please," the butler replied, and turned briskly on his heel.

The question came sharply, and everyone in the room noted the hesitation before the butler replied.

"Graham gave them to me this morning," replied the butler.

"My lady will visit you in a few moments in the bedroom," replied the butler.

Lowering his voice, the butler replied, "There have been strange things happening this evening, sir."

"I don't see it could have been anything else," replied the butler.

"He is engaged in travelling, sir," replied the butler dryly.
