"The original builder went into the woods and got his own lumber," he said.
If successful, each builder gets a tool package worth over $5,000.00.
Construction is so hot that builders can't get to projects for a year or two.
However, it is not known how the builders got the huge wooden support columns into position.
"The builder also gets the ability to sleep at night," he said.
But once the city announced that tax benefits were about to end south of 96th Street, the builders got going.
And more experienced builders never get a crack at the job.
"But if done right, a builder can get $400 to $500 a square foot," he said.
He said the builder had not yet gotten in touch with the department.
