After a few tough years, Rob Bilsbury took over in the fall of 2001 as the head coach - becoming a dual sport coach along with boys tennis.

To counter the absence of boys soccer in the fall, boys tennis and boys ultimate frisbee were added to the fall athletics season.

The final season, spring, is home to boys and girls lacrosse, track and field, baseball, softball, boys tennis, and girls badminton.

Kirksville High School has won four state championships; boys tennis in 1984, baseball in 1995, and wrestling in 2009 and 2012.

The Kamiakin Cougars offer 7th grade basketball, badminton, boys tennis, softball,and most importantly football for first season sports.

The boys tennis team's 57 top ten finishes and 19 state championships is the state record.
