In 1986 the college attained full accreditation with The Association for Biblical Higher Education.

As head of the Academic Department, Chase was instrumental in attaining accreditation from the University of California during the Ryder administration.

To that end, Fick undertook a long-term effort at attaining accreditation.

The school attained full accreditation from the American Library Association (it has never lost its accreditation) in 1966 and the first PhD students were in 1967.

Some degree programs such as engineering require a minimum amount of industry experience (usually 12 weeks) to attain professional accreditation with industry bodies such as Engineers Australia.
