Montclair State needs to win out or hope for an at-large bid.

A victory by Vermont would almost assure an at-large bid.

In 2005, however, there were no at-large bids available to Oregon.

Otherwise, they are at the mercy of the 10-member selection committee, which hands out 34 at-large bids.

Of the 34 at-large bids, 26 went to the six top conferences.

That leaves room for 10 at-large bids, up from the present 6.

In the same period, the A10 has had 20 at-large bids, including three to the 2012 tournament.

The at-large bid, we won't talk about that again until March.

The other teams have to hope for an at-large bid.

Both teams knew enough to not count on an at-large bid for the loser.
