The assisted-living apartments will include 25 studios for people suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
By 1994, the development was built, featuring 201 independent-living, 20 assisted-living apartments and 39 skilled-nursing beds.
There are also 60 assisted-living apartments and a 60-bed skilled nursing center.
The complex will have 24 one-bedroom assisted-living apartments and 36 beds for nursing care in a single building.
The rest will be rented as assisted-living apartments at $2,700 to $4,000 a month.
Each floor of the Mount is divided in half, one side nursing home, the other assisted-living apartments for less dependent residents.
"This project will make assisted-living apartments available to seniors with less resources."
There will also be 60 assisted-living apartments, which are smaller than the independent-living units, for residents who need some help.
As now planned, there will be 67 assisted-living apartments, whose residents are generally 75 and older who need some help with daily living.
Under an earlier proposal, SBJ wanted to build 150 assisted-living apartments.
