Add 2 cups of water, and bring to a boil.
Add 3 cups of water and bring to a boil over high heat.
Turn off the heat and add 2 cups of the basil.
Add four cups of cold water and the bay leaf.
Add the remaining ingredients and four cups of cold water.
Add only 3 cups of the broth, and cook for 24 minutes.
As rice becomes soft but firm, add last cup of stock.
Add two cups of water and mix well, until the dough comes together.
Transfer to a large pot and add 4 cups of water.
Add six cups of water and place the pot on the stove.
