The victory is important for Burnett as the agency seeks to regain momentum after some large account losses.

The account losses reached a point that they were cited by Interpublic as a reason (among many) for its poor financial performance in 2005.

These statistics do not take into account unreported losses so the figures could arguably be much higher.

He added that as a result of the estimated $40 million account loss, 20 of the agency's 198 employees would have to be laid off.

"Now, an account loss here and there becomes an excuse to clean house."

"That's why we can sustain a $150 million account loss," he said.

The gain for Lowe came after several recent large account losses.
