Heavy recreational traffic at beaches like Trunk Bay is forcing rangers to consider restricting use of the park to reduce pressure on its natural systems.

Also, the National Geographic Society has labeled Trunk Bay as the most beautiful beach in the world.

Chief among them is an underwater trail at Trunk Bay, St. John.

For inexperienced snorkelers, it might be best to start out at Trunk Bay.

But the rookie snorkeler who accompanied me said Trunk Bay was a good place to get his bearings.

Following the current clockwise around the cay, I found a waterscape where everything was larger and more colorful than it had been at Trunk Bay.

Trunk Bay is among the best.

So far so good; but this being America, the "greening" of Trunk Bay hasn't stopped there.

My favorite excursion was the bus to Trunk Bay on St. John.

Trunk Bay is a beach that lots of cruise ships shuttle their passengers to, I'm told, but it wasn't really crowded.
