"It is their idol," said Toll, his eyes filled with the sight before him.

Toll said nothing more and so they continued down the hill once more in silence.

Toll said the homes it is building here are designed to sell to buyers with annual incomes of roughly $85,000.

"Yes," said Toll, wrapping an arm around the boy and pulling him close.

Worst case," Toll said,"we take out the running gear and then keep clear of the guns.

"Everybody here's worked in the business," Toll said.

Toll said, a little defensively, when I asked her recently about this political divide.

"They're going to live with us until they're 40," Toll said matter-of-factly.

Toll said he doesn't think home construction is much different from 60 years ago, when his father was building houses in suburban Philadelphia.

That is the answer," Toll says, "but it can't be done, unfortunately.
