Lord of the Dance (Sydney Carter)

In 1954 Blezard had arranged a performance for two pianos with Donald Swann and Sydney Carter.

Brackett's tune is also known widely through the lyrics "Lord of the Dance", written by Sydney Carter in 1963.

Sydney Carter wrote:

Lovely in the Dances: Songs of Sydney Carter (1981)

This same Shaker tune was used by Sydney Carter in a widely recognized hymn entitled "Lord of the Dance".

His early painting style was impressionistic, and his work was referred to, along with that of Sydney Carter (qv.)

The title track, "Lord of the Dance", is a cover version of the original by Sydney Carter.
