"Splendid Heritage," American Indian art.
"Splendid Heritage" is a selection, from the collection of the Masco Corporation of Taylor, Mich., of 42 objects made by members of various tribes from the Great Lakes and Plains regions, mostly in the 19th century.
The gallery will be open all year, and in 1998 it will show the photographic collection of Henry Mendelssohn Buhl and the traveling exhibition "Splendid Heritage," selections from the Masco collection of Native American art.
Splendid Heritage: Perspective on American Indian Art (February 10, 2009 - March 1, 2010) premiered an extraordinary exhibition of cultural and artistic treasures from the John and Marva Warnock Collection with 149 objects of unique artistry and cultural expression from the Native people of the Northeast and Plains.
