There are shopping centers on the west side of the highway on both sides of US 59, which is locally called the Southwest Freeway.

Just before entering the District of Columbia, it runs along the Southwest Freeway at the 14th Street Bridge.

It is located in Greater Sharpstown in Houston, Texas near the Southwest Freeway.

It was developed in the late 1950s by the Sharpstown expansion west of the Southwest Freeway by Frank Sharp.
