"Some part of the stories are without question true," said a senior diplomat.

"Most people knew it could be a long campaign," a senior diplomat said.

"I think peace is a good subject in a country where war has been going on for so long," said one senior western diplomat.

"The international community has a whole different look today than it did a year ago," a senior Western diplomat said.

A senior Western diplomat said they did not expect a positive one.

"But it is not a total love situation," a senior Western diplomat said.

"We have to find another way," a senior Japanese diplomat said late today.

"It's what we want a lot of countries to do," a senior American diplomat said.

A few agree with the senior diplomat and are worried.

"The Government has a lot to do with how these emotions are playing themselves out," said one senior diplomat.
