Chairman Smith: "Secretary Napolitano continues to mislabel the Obama administration's enforcement of our immigration laws as smart and effective.

On October 2, 2012, Secretary Napolitano announced the inclusion of Taiwan into the program effectively as of November 1, 2012.

The text of Rep. Pascrell's letter to Secretary Napolitano follows:

Dear Secretary Napolitano:

According to Secretary Napolitano, the border security index will include crime, immigration, and economic data.

The "prosecutorial discretion" reviews will be done on case-by-case bases and possible relief for the accused will be provided by Secretary Napolitano.

Secretary Napolitano was announced as being scheduled to appear on it.

If they didn't comply, Chairman Smith said that the Committee intends to move forward and consider a resolution to hold Secretary Napolitano in contempt of Congress.

Secretary Napolitano informed us that one additional Member State is getting very close to entering the visa-waiver programme.

She was appointed by Secretary Napolitano in March 2009.
