He was said to have devoted fifteen years of his life to just studying his finding of the Secret Gospel.

It also appears in the controversial document known as the Secret Gospel of Mark.

It contains the only known references to the Secret Gospel of Mark.

Most scholars however see the so called Secret Gospel as a modern hoax.

Another more recent interpretation draws from the Secret Gospel of Mark, existing only in fragments.
