In the early 1990's, experts estimate, China supplied Pakistan with several dozen M-11 missiles, a solid-fuel version of the Scud-B missile.
One of the items was the modified Scud-B missile which was eventually used against the American-led coalition in the Persian Gulf war.
The weapon is an extensively modified version of Scud-B missiles originally provided to Iraq by the Soviet Union.
On 23 August, opposition forces in Misrata reported that four Scud-B missiles were fired against the city from Sirte, but had caused no damage.
Iran had fired two dozen Soviet-made Scud-B missiles into Baghdad beginning late last year, but these were the first attacks since Feb. 13.
