He is also a recipient of a Presidential Scholar Award for the Arts (1986).

He was awarded the Society for Marketing Advances Distinguished Scholar Award for 2000.

In 1968, he received the Distinguished Scholar Award of U.P.

In 1999, the Industrial Relations Research Association gave her their Young Scholar Award.

He also received the 2004 Scholar Award in History, from the Virginia Social Science Association.
