In 1865, the church of Saint Demetrius was built.
A private school was opened in 1829 and the church of Saint Demetrius with a religious school was built in 1837.
The first tribal names were recorded in the second book of the Miracles of Saint Demetrius around 690.
Unusually almost all represent Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki, often with suppliants before him.
In the village there is the church of Saint Demetrius and an old monastery.
It was only unearthed in the middle of the 19th century, when it was dedicated to Saint Demetrius.
The first settlement was called Saint Demetrius and this place still bears his name today.
The second book also preserves information on the second basilica dedicated to Saint Demetrius, before its destruction by fire in 629/634.
In 1971 the church dedicated to Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki was constructed.
The following year's earthquake caused damage that required the cathedral to be sanctified again in 1978 on the feast of Saint Demetrius, after a refurbishing.
