The 2d Pursuit Group immediately began operations against the enemy.

Along with the 42nd and 56th squadrons it was a part of the 54th Pursuit Group.

It was formed with a cadre from the 35th Pursuit Group.

Official confirmation did not come through, at least to the 24th Pursuit Group, till about 4:45.

The 49th Pursuit Group became its principal defense.

The 24th Pursuit Group and its squadrons were never remanned after the battle.

On 5 May 1918, it was assigned to the 1st Pursuit Group.

It became part of the 1st Pursuit Group in June.

He assumed command of the 17th Pursuit Group there in October 1931.

These were delivered later in the year, the aircraft being used as advanced trainers by the 1st Pursuit Group.
