In 2010, Terblanche was appointed captain of the Natal Sharks.

It has now been confirmed that he will be playing for Natal Sharks in the 2010 Currie Cup.

The following season he moved from the Griquas to the Natal Sharks.

The Natal Sharks played in the first Super 12 season, in 1996.

He hails from the youth academy of the Natal Sharks.

He made his name with the Natal Sharks as a fly-half starting at U21 level in 1997.

He then represented the Natal Sharks at various underage levels.

He also played in the Currie Cup with the Natal Sharks in 1997-1998.

The following season they defeated the Natal Sharks 40-19 in the final with most of the team doing duty at the 2003 World Cup.

His debut for the Natal Sharks was in 2008 against Boland.
