Ms. Wells, a 33-year-old legal secretary, said during a break in the trial today that hundreds of women had written offering to pay her fine.
Ms. Wells said her son was a normal, good-natured boy.
Instead, he spent the money on himself, and Ms. Wells got the bill.

Ms. Wells, has been fighting back in amiable fashion for 30 years.

Ms. Wells also said she will no longer hire models who are under 19.
Ms. Wells said she hoped residents would understand that the idea behind the flags was a good one.
