The idea was already in the works, so Mr. Lack decided to make the product one of his priorities.

Mr. Lack implied there was little difference between the jobs, and that women did not usually seek the higher rank.

Mr. Lack does not appear too worried about any merger pains.

"These shows haven't changed much in 20 or 30 years," Mr. Lack said.

Mr. Lack declined to say how much the renovation did cost.

"It's not fair to stand in front of his house all day with a camera waiting for him to come out," Mr. Lack said.

Mr. Lack did not return repeated phone calls seeking comment.

Mr. Lack had no experience in the music business.

Mr. Lack said that the idea would be to find an "untold story" and to bring its details to light.

Mr. Lack said he was worried about the reaction to the interview.
