The winner will serve just 24 months, filling the last two years of Mayor Washington's second term.

Mayor Washington, for his part, has elected to take the matter seriously.

"Anybody who does not work for this ticket is not my friend," Mayor Washington said.

The committee also asked Mayor Washington to use "moral leadership to discourage appeals like this."

Mayor Washington died Nov. 25, also of a heart attack.

On November 25, 1987 Mayor Washington died in office of a heart attack.

The list also includes five women and five former top aides to Mayor Washington.

Mayor Washington said, "Parent pressure had a big role to play in resolving the strike."

"I'll break his neck with one little finger," Mayor Washington said recently.

Public opinion polls have showed Mayor Washington leading his opponents by a wide margin.
