Things aren't the same now, there isn't as much choice and MS Office is the best on the market.
And the vast majority of people buy MS Office from places that aren't amazon.
No one builds on MS Office as a platform anymore.
For the rest of us however, spending a few hundred dollars on MS Office is not a major deal but still significant.
The work was limited to learning how to use MS Office.
