They may seen through the end of March at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme.

As a student at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Conn., Mr. Damberg worked as a house painter to pay his tuition.

Admission to the Lyme Art Association and the Lyme Academy will be free.

He has also served as a trustee of the Brooklyn Museum in New York, the Rhode Island School of Design and the Lyme Academy.

According to The New York Times, "many in the art world believe the (Lyme) Academy has contributed to the renaissance of representational art."

Amongst private art colleges, the Lyme Academy is known for its contemporary focus on the history and tradition of representational art, centered on the study of nature and the figure.

The Lyme Academy, the only independent fine arts college in New England dedicated to classical techniques, was host to six Irish students and their instructor, Mick O'Dea.

Mr. Peterson considers the Lyme Academy, which offers college-level instruction in traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, the perfect place to show his work.

Born in Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, he attended Lyme Academy and was graduated from Yale College in 1821.
