What happens when the packs converge on winter prey concentrations like those in the Lamar Valley?

Following elk back from their high-country summer pastures to a cooler and briefly snow-dusted Lamar Valley late last month, they met the bison again.

In the evening we go looking for wolves in Lamar Valley near our cabins.

This occurs when many of the bison leave the park during the winter, heading up into Montana, especially through the Lamar Valley.

It includes wildlife viewing in the Lamar Valley and talks about the reintroduction of wolves in the park.

But the Lamar Valley is one of the best places in the world to observe wolves, and tourism based on wolves is booming.

In 1995, gray wolves were first reintroduced into Yellowstone in the Lamar Valley.
