Justice Department officials said it was unclear when Judge Sessions would be sworn in.
"But in my opinion, Judge Sessions is a moderate."
The doctor said Judge Sessions would need several weeks to a month "to feel his old self again."
Judge Sessions also suggested that capital punishment could still be legal if Congress changed the federal death penalty law.
Judge Sessions qualified her, saying she showed no obvious bias.
On Tuesday, Judge Sessions called the decision "a clear victory for justice."
Judge Sessions sentenced them to terms ranging from 15 to 30 years.
Judge Sessions has occasionally clashed with the press.
In his ruling, Judge Sessions said the testimony convinced him that such problems were real.
Judge Sessions, he said, "just adds his name to a long list of people who find this very troubling."
