In 1995, the cinema was added to the State Register of Heritage Places due to its cultural and historical significance.

Its entry on the National Register of Heritage Places was rejected owing to the extensive refurbishments done to the building.

It was listed on the State Register of Heritage Places in 1999.

The Shire of Nillumbik council has also listed the property as a Heritage Place.

It was permanently entered on to the State Register of Heritage Places on 13 March 1992.

The property was subsequently removed from the State Register of Heritage Places on 22 August 2008.
